Storm Debris Collection

Punta Gorda, Fla. (September 19, 2017) – City staff has been working with the debris removal contractor, CrowderGulf,  and the debris monitoring contractor, Landfall Strategies, LLC, to organize yardwaste debris removal service following Hurricane Irma. Collection of storm-related yardwaste debris piles by the contractor will begin on Thursday, September 21, 2017. 

Please place your storm related debris at the curb away from your regular household garbage and recycling. Do NOT place storm debris/vegetation in bags, cans or containers, and do NOT mix piles. Do NOT place storm debris/vegetation near storm drains, fences, fire hydrants, mailboxes, poles, transformers, downed wires, water meters, vehicles or close to overhead wires. 

Once the contractor’s grapple trucks have completed collecting storm debris piles in your area, it would be greatly appreciated if residents would rake up and containerize any remaining loose debris.  Since the contractor will not empty containers (cans, bags or dumpsters) of yardwaste, City Sanitation crews will follow the contractor’s route to collect the containerized yardwaste.
