Gary was born in Chicago Illinois and raised just 3 blocks form Wrigley Field," home of the Chicago Cubs. After graduating from Lane Technical High School in 1966 he went on to earn a B.S. degree in Zoology and Chemistry from Eastern Illinois University.
Gary and wife Linda first came to Punta Gorda in 1999, and fell in love with the City while visiting friends from Chicago. They purchased their home in early 2000 as a vacation residence. After Hurricane Charley destroyed their home, they did not hesitate to rebuild, confident they would retire here as full time residents in 2010.
Gary's career in industrial water treatment spans over 45 years. He holds several patents in wastewater treatment technologies and has been published in a number of professional journals. He continues to actively consult for several regional and international water treatment companies. His career in water treatment and the construction of a new water treatment plant in Punta Gorda fostered Gary’s desire to serve on City Council.
Gary's experience and involvement in community organizations also spurred his interest in serving Punta Gorda on City Council. He believes development of commerce, industry and business in a balanced way, while achieving and preserving the cultural richness and diversity of Punta Gorda, is an achievable goal.
