The City kicked off the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) on Thursday, July 15, 2010. Three public meetings were held throughout the day, giving residents and interested parties a chance to voice their opinion on issues regarding the City of Punta Gorda’s Comprehensive Plan 2025 update! The results of this information gathering will be the basis of a letter of understanding provided to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) informing them of the issues to be addressed in the state mandated Comprehensive Plan update (EAR). |

City of Punta Gorda
Comprehensive Plan 2025
Chapter 163 of the Florida Statutes requires all cities and counties in the State of Florida to maintain a comprehensive plan providing a long range (10 to 20 years) vision of future development and redevelopment. The Plan is required to be in accordance with the Florida Administrative Code. The Florida Department of Community Affairs requires complete evaluations and appropriate updates to the comprehensive plan in a seven year cycle known as the Evaluation and Appraisal Review (EAR). The City of Punta Gorda Comprehensive Plan 2025 is a result of the recommendations from the last major evaluation - the 2003 City of Punta Gorda Evaluation and Appraisal Report.
The City of Punta Gorda Comprehensive Plan 2025 has been redesigned in an effort to be “user friendly”. Each chapter has been color coded for easier reference. The City of Punta Gorda Comprehensive Plan 2025 was approved by Ordinance 1574-08. If you have questions, comments or concerns, contact Urban Design at urbandesign@ci.punta-gorda.fl.us.
