The Punta Gorda Police Department is divided into two divisions, the Operations Division and the Support Services Division. The Support Services Division is headed by Captain Jason Ciaschini who oversees the following components:

Records Section

The Records Section consists of three-full time Records Specialists who handle nearly all of the information coming through the police department. The Records Section is responsible for processing reports, handling public records requests, database management, data analysis, uniform crime reporting, department billing, and much more.

Communications Section

The Communications Section consists of a Communications Supervisor and ten dispatchers. The department's Communications Sections handles dispatching for both the police department and the Punta Gorda Fire Department.

Property, Evidence, and Crime Scene

The Punta Gorda Police Department has one Property, Evidence, and Crime Scene Technician who is responsible for all of the department's property and equipment, crime scene processing, and approximately 10,000 pieces of evidence.

Fleet Management

The Support Services Captain oversees the management of the police department's fleet, including the purchase, maintenance, and repair of all department vehicles.

Professional Standards

The Support Services Captain oversees the department's Professional Standards Investigations.

Budget and Finance

The Support Services Captain oversees the budget and finances of the police department.
