Residential Uses

Special Residential Overlay (SRO) District: 

  • shall not exceed 6 X 8 inches
  • limited to one per lot    
    • properties that abut a golf course or waterway may have one additional 6 inch by 8 inch real estate sign on the side of the property that abuts the golf course or waterway provided that sign is not visible from the public road right-of-way

Residential Outside the SRO: 

  • shall not exceed 6 X 8 inches
  • limited to one per lot
    • parcels with dual street frontage, a second sign allowed

Non-Residential Uses

  • shall not exceed 5 feet in height and 32 square feet in area
  • limited to one per lot    
    • parcels with dual street frontage, a second sign not to exceed 30 inches in height and 5 square feet in area is permitted

Open House

Property Signage:

  • one open house sign is permitted
  • not to exceed 3 square feet in area and 36 inches in height
  • must be placed on private property of the house
  • permitted on Saturday, Sunday, & Holidays
    • 11:00AM - 5:30PM the day of open house
  • streamers, flags, balloons, or other inflatable or windblown devices are NOT permitted

Off-Premises Directional Signs are NOT permitted   

 

Why are Signs Removed

Real Estate signs are NOT permitted to placed in the public right-of-way.  Any sign placed in the public right-of-way  are in violation of the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 26, Article 11, Section 11.8 (d) (2), and “...shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be seized by the enforcement official or other representative of the City, and the person owning or placing the sign may be charged both with a violation of this Article and with the cost of removing and disposing of the sign.”
