Subject: City of Punta Gorda Public Works Department Announces Reopening of Laishley Marina and Boat Slip Wait List Process - Press Release
The City of Punta Gorda Public Works Department is pleased to announce the reopening of Laishley Marina and the implementation of a transparent and fair wait list process for recreational and commercial boat slip leases. To ensure equal opportunity for all applicants, the city will utilize a first-come, first-served waiting list system for available marina slips.
The City would like to emphasize that there will be:
- No lottery, No drawing, No reservations, No special treatment
Every applicant will have the same opportunity to register for the wait list on a first-come, first-served basis. Required documents check list.
Wait List Registration Information:
Applicants may begin signing up on a first-come, first-served basis beginning:
Friday, June 5, 2026
Starting at 7:00 a.m.
Laishley Community Room
120 Laishley Court, Punta Gorda, FL
Registration must be completed in person only.
Online submissions, mail-in applications, proxy sign-ups, or reservations will not be accepted. Wait list sign-up sheet.
Marina Lease Information
- Slip leases are available for up to one year maximum
- Leases do not automatically renew
- Liveaboard restrictions apply
- All wastewater regulations and marina rules must be followed
After completing registration, applicants will receive an official wait list number. Wait list positions will only change if an applicant withdraws or fails to comply with the marina requirements and regulations. As slips become available, the Dock Master will contact the next applicant on the wait list. Applicants will have up to 72 hours to respond before the opportunity moves to the next person on the list. Wait list positions may not be sold, transferred, or reassigned. Marina staff are not permitted to move applicants on the list. The wait list will remain a public record in accordance with Florida public records requirements. The goal of this process is to maintain fairness and equal access for all applicants, ensure compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection marina requirements, protect the public trust, and provide full transparency throughout the marina leasing process.
