For Immediate Release - Alleyway Improvement Project   

PUNTA GORDA, FL – July 31, 2026 – The City of Punta Gorda Public Works Department will begin an alleyway improvement project on Monday, August 17, 2026, to improve the condition and longevity of the alley located between Carmalita Street and Burland Street, extending from Elizabeth Street to Cooper Street. The project is expected to take approximately one week to complete, weather permitting. During construction, residents and motorists may experience temporary access restrictions and should use caution when traveling through the area. Traffic control measures and signage will be in place to help ensure the safety of the public and work crews.

This maintenance project is part of the City's ongoing commitment to preserving and enhancing public infrastructure while providing safe and reliable access throughout the community.
