Project Description:

Refurbishment of the pickleball courts at Gilchrist Park, to include the following:

• Removal and replacement of exterior fencing.
• Removal and replacement of netting posts.
• Resurfacing and lining services.
• Reconfiguration of the courts including new interior fencing.

A citizen group has also raised funds to install a vegetative barrier around the resurfaced courts.

The scope of this project will also address the Gilchrist Park tennis courts and basketball court.

Project Update:

As of January 6, 2026, the project is currently out to bid. The original deadline for submittal of a bid has been extended to 3 p.m. on January 13, 2026, as the City did not receive a sufficient number of responses to ensure a competitive and equitable procurement process consistent with best-practice purchasing standards. Extending the deadline allows additional qualified vendors the opportunity to participate, which strengthens price competition, supports prudent use of public funds, and protects the integrity of the solicitation.

• December 22, 2025: Bid extended due to posting of addendum in response to bidder questions about project requirements.
• December 17, 2025: Solicitation question and clarification period ended. 
• December 11, 2025: Non-mandatory pre-submittal conference held.
• December 8, 2025: Solicitation package protest period ended.
• December 3, 2025: Solicitation issued.
